Roth IRA

A retirement account funded with after-tax money that grows tax-free.

A Roth IRA is an individual retirement account you fund with money you have already paid taxes on. In exchange, qualified withdrawals in retirement — including all the growth — are tax-free. It is especially attractive if you expect to be in a higher tax bracket later. Contribution limits and income rules apply, so check current figures before contributing.
